Gif2SL Studio — Open-Source Compliance and Relinking Information ================================================================= Gif2SL Studio is a proprietary application published by D.L. Cunningham, doing business as Earth Machina, and uses separately licensed open-source components. Earth Machina is a trade name, not a separate legal entity. Your rights in the open-source components are granted by their respective licenses and are not reduced by the Gif2SL Studio license. 1. DYNAMICALLY LINKED LGPL COMPONENTS The Windows portable release keeps Qt, PySide6, Shiboken6, PyAV, and FFmpeg runtime libraries as separate files in the application folder. The publisher does not apply encryption, signature checks, or digital restrictions that stop you from replacing those libraries for your own use. You may reverse engineer or debug Gif2SL Studio to the extent necessary to exercise a right granted by an applicable open-source license, including replacing and debugging a modified LGPL library. 2. REPLACING THE LIBRARIES Make a backup of the portable application folder first. Replace a dynamically linked library only with an ABI-compatible build and preserve the filename and directory expected by the application. Qt libraries and plugins are stored in the packaged PySide6 runtime directories. FFmpeg libraries are stored with the packaged PyAV runtime. A replacement must provide the interfaces expected by the included Python extension modules. Modified libraries are not supported or warranted by the publisher. Replacing a library does not change your license to the proprietary Gif2SL Studio portions of the application. 3. CORRESPONDING SOURCE AND BUILD MATERIALS For each public release, the publisher will make the exact corresponding source, applicable patches, configuration information, and available build materials for the distributed LGPL components available at: https://earthmachina.com/open-source For at least three years after the publisher's last distribution of a release, you may also request that material at: opensource@earthmachina.com If physical delivery is requested and available, the publisher may charge no more than its reasonable cost of performing that distribution. Internet downloads are provided without charge. 4. COMPLETE LICENSE TEXTS AND VERSION INVENTORY The "Third Party Licenses" folder in the Windows release contains the license and notice files collected from the exact Python environment used for the build. Its COMPONENT_VERSIONS.txt identifies the component versions. The complete source bundle offered by the publisher is the controlling record of the LGPL runtime source used for that release. 5. RELEASE SAFEGUARD The public Windows builder must pass scripts/audit_runtime_licenses.py before packaging. That audit rejects: - FFmpeg configured with --enable-gpl or --enable-nonfree; - an FFmpeg library reporting a GPL license; and - packaged x264 or x265 runtime libraries. Passing this automated check supports, but does not replace, the publisher's responsibility to preserve notices and corresponding source for the exact runtime actually distributed.
